In Alexandria my mother often spoke of my great-grandmother with deep admiration, calling her a true genius. Despite never having received formal education, she was incredibly crafty and wise. She was the backbone of a family with five children, nurturing and guiding them with strength and love. Remarkably, she extended that care to her 13 grandchildren, supporting and shaping their lives as well. Every time I create something, I think of her—how her hands shaped a family and I wonder had she had the chance, what wonders might
